Group Medical 101
Group medical coverage is a policy that allows your company to buy health coverage as a group so you can get a reduced rate. Carriers typically require 70% participation. You can pay for all of the premiums, or split the cost with your employees. Employees can add thier family for an additional cost.
Enrollment usually starts with a group census form to collect the basic details of your employees. From there, a master application is usually submitted. You may also be asked to submit employee applications, an ACA Banking Consent form, Wage and Tax statements, a PCP selection form for HMO enrollees and a few other things.
